The Power of Stories
The Power of Stories (formerly Story Medicine and how to make it) is a book about soul ecology. There are three parts to this book.
The first, 'The Power of Story,' is of general interest, where I set out to think with story rather than about it. I look at a wide variety of stories and let them speak about their own content. In this way I came across the tale in the tale, a second layer of story encrypted in the first. The tale in the tale is the message in the bottle of Story Medicine. It is the key that unlocks the secrets of Story Medicine from antiquity to our time. Using this key, stories reveal themselves as co-creators of cultures, shaping the destiny of whole nations as well as of our individual lives.
The second part of the book, 'Traditional Tales and Their Use,' suggests ways to use the powerful effects of story for the benefit of children and teenagers. It is written for parents, educators, psychologists and all those who want to work with the age-appropriate story as a tool for healing and personal transformation.
Part Three, 'The Making of Stories,' is a manual with detailed instructions for the creation of new stories. It is written for all those who want to develop their skill in story making. It offers a secure, step-by-step path towards imaginal capability in a process that mirrors the developmental stages of the imagination itself.

The Writer's Passage
The Writer's Passage (formerly Working the Word) was a part time course that offered a new approach to the art of creative writing: a journey through time in which students experienced the whole literary adventure of humanity through their own writing.
I modelled the course on the principles of Waldorf Education modified to suit adult writers. I found that following the course of historical time greatly enhanced creative capability and writing momentum. The course is now available as The Writer's Passage as a pdf.
